He smiled boyishly, as she told him he didn't have to announce that he would kiss her. "Oh I know. I just felt like it." He chuckled, and held her chin with his thumb and forefinger as he looked down at her. He finally acknowledged her about how she'd done with the room. "I love it, I love the whole Medieval feel." He looked past her, and down at the rug. "I especially like this rug too." He grinned, not quite letting go of her, letting his hand slip from her face, back down to her waist.
"We can sit here and eat now, if you're hungry?" He said with a grin. He'd heard her stomach gurgle, but didn't mention it.

Jaimi smiled up at Remus as her skin tingled where he held her her chin in his slightly rough fingers. She blushed when he complimented her choice of decor, pleased that the style he mentioned was the style she had been going for. "I'm glad you like it." she said resting her head on his chest and gazing into the fire for a moment.
Her stomach gurgled again, "Maybe food is a good idea." she said walking over to the sofa.

He smiled. "How could I not like anything that you do?" He walked with her to the couch, his hand on the small of her back. He sat down, after waiting for her to sit first, then he took the food from his bag. Remus handed her some crusty bread and he handed her some ham slices, that were wrapped in greaseproof paper and some chicken. He took a cob of crusty bread for himself and sat back.
"I'm sorry I couldn't get any butter or some other condiments to have with this." He said looking at her apologetically. "I did manage some butterbeers though." He reached down and pulled the bottles from his bag like a couple of rabbits from a hat.He grinned at her, before placing one in front of her on the floor.
He ripped off a bit of bread and popped it in his mouth. It was surprisingly light and soft, and he chewed thoughtfully. "You know being here with you, I can honestly wish time could stand still."

Remus' hand felt nice resting in the small of her back as they walked over to the couch. She sat down and took the bread he handed her and tore a strip off a slice of ham and folding it into her mouth. She chewed and swallowed before replying.
"That's O.k, I prefer bread without butter anyway, especially when it's this nice." she said taking a bite out of it. She grinned when he placed a butterbeer down in front of her. "You are certainly playing the right cards Mr Lupin." she said picking it up and taking a swig, feeling the warm liquid spread through her stomach and into the rest of her body.
"I know exactly what you mean," she said looking up at him over the bottle of butterbeer.

Remus smiled at her, as she told him she preferred not to have butter. He felt himself blush slightly when she called him Mr Lupin. "Well I try." He admitted coyly. He picked up some chicken and ate it. He smiled at her as she looked at him over the butterberr. Picking up his own bottle, he took a drink.
"So what made you come up with a Medieval theme for this place? Do you have some facination for the era?"

She took another swig of Butterbeer before answering his question. "A little bit." she admitted. "I mean, it was a different time then, we think it's difficult keeping our world a secret from Muggles now, just imagine what it must have been like when the church was everything. Plus the Muggle escapades of the time were interesting too. But that's not why I chose it, Medieval times were the age of Chivalry something I think more modern generations lack. You surprised me though, you've been nothing but chivalrous since day one, and although it may not have been romantic at the the time, Romanticism certainly did something for the way we look back at the age of Chivalry." She took another drink realising she had said quite a lot, something she was told only took away from her beauty.
'You are the picture of elegance and beauty, then you open your mouth and your intelligence rears it's ugly head' one of her mother's pure blood friends had said at one gathering a year ago, she had been quite hurt by the comment but as was required she made no retort. It seemed strange that she should remember that now.
She looked away into the fire, feeling very sombre all of a sudden. The flickering of the flames as they lapped around the logs set so neatly in the grate slowly calmed her suddenly tempered mind.

Remus sat and listened to her talking, he could sit and listen to her all day, and never think it tedious or tiresome. He sighed as she talked of how the Muggles treated witches and wizards in those days. It brought back the feeling of persecution and isolation he'd felt by his own kind. "People are cruel and unkind, when they don't understand or don't wish to know, just what it's like to be this way."
He smiled, when she complimented him on his chivalry. "I was always taught to be polite and respectful of others. I think that you should treat people, how you would wish to be treated." He said quietly. He watched her as she went quiet and gazed into the fire. He put his arm around her and spoke softly. "Penny for your thoughts?"

Jaimi sensed something slightly off about the last part of his sentence, and a small frown line crossed her forehead. Combined with the comment she thought she heard him make earlier, it made her brain start to go into overdrive.
'worst feeling ever' when she had been talking about how a werewolf must feel when all they got from everyone else was ridicule. 'what it's like to be this way' when talking about how people hated what they didn't understand. She decided however that if he did want to tell her something he would do it in his own time, whatever it happened to be was clearly not a second date discussion.
She looked up at him as he slid his arm around her shoulders. "There are things about my past that colour the way I look at things today. I was at a party when I was eleven and one of my Mother's friends told me that 'You are the picture of elegance and beauty, then you open your mouth and your intelligence rears it's ugly head'" she said doing her best impression of the woman's voice. "Pureblood society doesn't rejoice in the intelligence of it's daughters. Far more important is your sense of fashion, your figure and the ability to hold your tongue." she sighed bitterly, true she had benefits in her childhood that others could only dream of, but her life was far from the dream that others thought it had been.
"I'm sorry, I realised how much I'd been talking and I suddenly remembered what she'd said. It hurt when she said it then, but somehow it hurts even more now." she took and angry bite out of the piece of bread and shoved some chicken in after it, chewing steadily to try and calm herself down.

Remus looked at her, as she silently worked things out. Inside, he wanted her to, he couldn't bring himself to say it aloud. James and the others did. He knew deep down, he wanted her to know, he felt he could trust her, and hopefully, she wouldn't flip out.
He listened as she explained about the party as a child, and he frowned. "Don't let people put you down for being yourself. You have a brilliant mind, and it in no way outshines your beauty." He told her seriously. "I love listening to you talk, and tell me things that are interesting and thought provoking. You have to be true to yourself, no matter what others say or think. That's what makes you, you."

Jaimi looked up and him and saw he was watching her slightly strangely, almost like a teacher silently willing a student to answer a question correctly. In a way she wanted to come to the conclusion that her brain was working towards, but part of her was holding stopping it from happening, like right now it didn't want to know.
It suddenly struck her how cute he was when he frowned, something that was heightened as he started complimenting her. "Do you really like listening to me talk?" she asked seriously, "I've spent so many years being told to shut up, I almost can't believe it." she looked away into the fire again. "Sometimes I'm not even sure who I am, I have to be so many different people, but I feel like I'm putting on less of a show with you than anyone else. I've certainly never said any of that to anyone else."

He smiled reassuringly at her and nodded. "I wouldn't have said it, if I didn't mean it Jaimi." He listened to her and as she talked, he stroked her hair. "I don't ever want you to stop talking about things that interest you, or inspire you. If people don't like it, then that's their problem." He told her firmly.
*He smiled at her last comment. "I'm glad you feel you can be yourself with me. In a way, I feel privileged that I'm getting to know the real you." He cupped her cheek, and turned her face to look at him. "There is nothing shameful, in being both beautiful and intelligent. Never forget that." He said, before closing the distance between them and kissing her softly.

"I know, and I know being brought up to think that's it's my problem is no excuse, and it's something I need to work on, but I'm glad you like me talking about things. You are going to have to promise to stop me if I start boring you." she said with a smile.
"I won't with you reminding me all the time." she said glancing down at the bread in her hands and then back up at him as he leaned in to kiss her. After a few moments she pulled away. and pulled off another piece of bread. "Pretty heavy conversation for a second date huh?" she said suddenly feeling the urge to laugh.

He chuckled and agreed. "Just a bit, but it's all right. We got the heavy stuff out of the way now, so we can now concentrate on the fun stuff." He to ripped off some more bread and ate it quietly. He then took a drink of his butterbeer, before speaking again. "Oh don't worry, I'll let you know if you're boring me, but you had better get used to me telling you you're beautiful all the time." He grinned.
"So where would you like to go after here? Or would you rather save more exploring til another day?" he asked casually. He picked up some ham and rolled it up before putting it into his mouth.

"Somehow I don't think I'm going to get bored of hearing that." she said with a smile, taking apiece of chicken this time and chewing it thoughtfully as she pondered his question.
"Well, we haven't finished eating yet, but I rather like the sound of relaxing in here, if we went anywhere else a prefect might thing we were up to something that we weren't." she said looking away slightly embarrassed, it was bad enough that they were in this room completely alone, something her mother and father would most definitely not approve of. Now she had gone and admitted she had thought about doing unapproved of activities with Remus. She thanked her Veela blood at that moment for stopping her blush and then realised that it was something Remus may not know about her.
"Remus, Im not sure if you know or not, Sirius might have told you, it's not a big deal, but I wanted to make sure you did know, before anything, you know..." she was suddenly highly embarrassed and realised she should have mentioned this much, much sooner.

"Good, because I will never tire of saying it to you." He said with a warm smile. He sat back sipping his butterbeer, as she appeared to be thinking about what they should do. When she voiced her thoughts, he smiled wider. then blushed a little as she mentioned about a prefect catching them and thinking the worst. He coughed nervously. "Well, yes there is that I suppose." He sipped his butterbeer, just for something to do.
He looked at her uncertainly, as she appeared to be about to confess something to him, though he wasn't sure what it could possibly be, as she seemed to be babbling a little. "Jaimi, what is it? Sirius hasn't told me anything about you." Remus thought Even if he had, it might be something completely different to what she was about to tell him. "Look, whatever it is, it can't be that bad." He smiled.
