Remus walked into the huge library after the days classes had ended and had his book bag over his shoulder. He went to a vacant table and placing his bag on it, he then walked around the shelves, trying to find the books he needed.
He picked a couple from one of the bookshelves and placed them on the table. He sat down and opened one. He took out some parchment and a quill, which he dipped into his ink bottle and began to write.
The library was quiet, even though there were quite a few students there at the time. Remus wrote a book title on his parchment and carried on reading.

Jaimi walked into the library, the signed note from Professor McGonagall saying she was allowed to use the restricted section was in her hand. She had been asked to stay behind after class for a few moments, as McGonagall had just had an Owl from her old transfiguration teacher.
Basically it had told McGonagal that Jaimi was attempting the Animagus tranformation and needed supervision whilst she practised in case anything went wrong. Having seen Jaimi's ability at Transfiguration in class Professor McGonagall said she was willing to continue her tuition in the transformation, as long as Jaimi read certain books that could be found in the restricted section.
Jaimi presented her note to the librarian, and found the first book on the list and went to find a table. There were none free, so resigning herself to having to share one she approached a Gryffindor she remembered seeing at the opening feast.
"Hi, sorry, do you ind if I sit here?" she asked quietly, not wanting to disturb the peace and quiet of the library too much.

Remus looked up from his writing, when he head a girls voice. He smiled and shook his head. "No, help yourself." He said kindly and couldn't help but notice the book she had. He nodded at the book. "Interested in animagus transformation?" He asked, quickly taking not of the title of the book. He discretely wrote it down on his parchment, then pretended to get back to his own work, while he waited for an answer.

"Thank you." she said, smiling back at him, and sat down, she looked back up at him when he mentioned the book. "Oh," she said glancing down at the cover. "Just a passing interest, same as anyone else I suppose." she said opening the book to the index to find the chapter that was relevant to where she was with the transformation.
She let the lie slip off her tongue as easily as the truth would have, she had long ago gotten used to lying about it. She didn't want everyone to know about it, even if she was going to end upon the register. She ran her finger down the list and found what she was looking for, then began to slowly flick the pages over.
"I'm Jaimi, by the way." she said glancing at him as he worked. "You're friends with Sirius? Right?" she asked, politely as she glanced back down at the book for a moment to see if she had reached the page she needed or not.

"Hi Jaimi, I'm Remus." He nodded about being a friend of Sirius. "Yes we're good friends actually." He smiled and surreptitiously took a look at the page she was looking at. "Actually..." He began slowly. "Maybe if you don't mind. Could I have a look at your book?" He grinned boyishly and hoped he could win her over. "As you said, everyone has an interest in the subject."
Remus was hoping she would allow him to at least have a minute or two to scan the chapter on Animagus transfiguration, that he'd seen on the index list. He decided to look as if he wasn't really bothered whether she let him look at the book, or not. "So, how do you know Sirius?" he asked lightly.

"Sure, go ahead," she said, holding the book out. She smiled and passed the book across the table, almost taken in by his boyish grin but something told her he had more than a passing interest. "You'll struggle to get it off the shelf otherwise, had to get a note from McGonagall for that one."
She grinned at the question. "Two children growing up in Pureblood society who don't enjoy the company of at least one member of their family don't tend to go without meeting each other for long. I think I was about 5. Pureblood parties are boring." she said with a grin.

((OOC Sorry corrected it)) Remus took the book carefully and flipped to the pages he wanted. His attention now drawn to the text, he muttered "Thanks." While he made swift and concise notes on hos parchment. He only half listened as she spoke about his possible lack of ability to get the book for himself. "Yeah, you're probably right." Looks up a moment and smiles sheepishly. "Sorry, I can't help getting caught up in books. I'm almost done." He made a few more notes, then slid the book back over to her. Remus smiled as she told him how she knew Sirius. "I can imagine. I on the other hand don't come from a Pure blood family, so I was never subjected to such torture." He went back to the book he had previously been reading, for a minute or two. "So, what year are you in? I don't think I've seen you in any of my classes?"

Jaimi watched patiently as he took notes from the book, suggesting that this was for more than just a 'passing interest' but she decided that it wasn't worth questioning. "Thanks," she said as he slid the book back to her, and noticed that he had taken notes from the pages that she herself had been flicking through the book to find. She raised a slender, well kept eyebrow just a little in surprise and hoped he didn't notice.
"I'm telling you right now you should think yourself lucky." she said with conviction, then voiced something she would never say in front of Sirius. "I was surprised when Regulus got sorted into Slytherin though, the way he used to follow Sirius around made me sure he'd want to follow in his footsteps, but apparently I was wrong. Then again, he always needed his parents approval more than Sirius did."
She was silent for a moment while he asked his question. "I'm a fourth year, I transferred from Beauxbatons at the beginning of the year." she said the name of her old school in a perfect French accent as a force of habit.

Remus did catch Jaimi's look and blushed. He spoke hurriedly. "It's for a...a project." He put his head down and pretended to read. He was inwardly cringing at himself. He finally looked up, as she spoke of Regulus. "I don't know? I just know that Sirius is concerned about him being in Slytherin. He's open to so much dark influences. He's only a kid." He frowned a little. "I just hope that he comes good. You know, that Sirius had more of an influence on him, then his mother's demands."

"It's fine, some people have more than a passing interest, I won't tell if you won't. Especially not to Sirius." she said, looking at him, her eyes hardening with seriousness for the last four words. She didn't want him to know how good she was at Transfiguration, hell, she didn't want anyone to know. But Remus was smart, she felt she could trust him.
"I'm sure it'll all turn out for the best, Sirius has a way of influencing people even when they have barely seen each other for a few years." she smiled at him and decided to ask the question she had been wanting to since the feast. "So, how did the Prank go, from the conspirators' point of view? Professor Dumbledore's Goblet nearly hit me on the head you know."

Remus held her gaze and saw something in her face, that told him, she had more than a passing interest, and her words about Sirius practically confirmed this. "Yes, he can be very persuasive when he wants to be." He smiled a little and thought of Regulus. He'd seen little of him, since the start of school and the times he had seen him, he saw a distinct change in him. His manner, the cold look on his face, that somehow, didn't quite show in his eyes...Yet at least. "I hope so." He said distantly.
His manner became more animated, when she mentioned the fire work prank. "Oh did it? Sorry about that Jaimi." He chuckled quietly, so as not to draw any attention from the librarian. "It went as planned, and we were not punished. Even though I think Dumbledore knew it was us." He grinned. He just put it down to high spirits."

Jaimi smiled, Sirius could do anything he wanted if he set his mind to it, he just rarely set his mind to anything.
"I think everyone in the school who wasn't a first year knew it was you." she said laughing quietly, "Dumbledore enjoys a good Prank every so often, he'd put everything down to high spirits if he could, I'm sure." not that she thought Dumbledore was soft in any way, in fact she was sure if he ever actually shouted it would bring down the ceiling of the great hall.
"So apart from pranks and homework, what do you get up to in your spare time?" she asked casually as she scanned the page.

He smiled as she talked of Dumbledore. Remus liked the head master, very much, and would do anything the old man asked of him. He'd gone to a lot of trouble to get him into Hogwarts and Remus would never be able to repay him enough.
"Oh I don't really do much of anything else really. It's not like I have a girlfriend or anything to distract me." He was thinking of James and Sirius neither of them actually dating, but not for the lack of trying."What about you?"

"I do a lot of extra work on Transfiguration, it was encouraged to pursue the subject you had the most natural aptitude at in your spare time. It's something I've carried on with here." she said with a smile, Remus was cute, but Sirius was the jealous type, she didn't think he'd be able to deal with her seeing one of his best friends. He had a simple mind sometimes.

He nods as he listens to her. "Oh I do Transfiguration and Defence Against the Dark Arts in my spare time. I seem to have a natural flair for the latter. I do find the subject interesting." He smiled at he, blushing slightly. Remus cleared his throat and looked back at his book. "It's nice to be able to talk to someone who is not only nice, but is intelligent to." Remus groaned inwardly. That sounded so lame, He looked back up at her and hoped she didn't think he was a moron.
"I'm sorry, that sounded so dumb. I am not good at paying compliments. Not to girls anyway. I hardly ever talk to girls for that reason." He grins and pulls out a pack of Droobles gum. He offers her some, before taking a piece himself. He chews it thoughtfully. "Would you be interested in helping me with some of the mopre advanced Transfiguration stuff? I know what I'm doing, I'm just having some problems with my wand movement."
