Sirius crept down the corridor from the portrait hole, James had gone straight to bed after the feast and Sirius didn't know where in his trunk he had put his cloak and didn't want to wake him up by either asking if he could borrow it, or making a noise rooting around in his trunk for it.
He prayed the fat lady would be back from her night time excursion when he returned from getting a beaters bat, and that he wouldn't have to wait out in the corridor until she did.
He stuck his head around the corner to check that the passageway clear and spot convenient hiding places along it's length where he could conceal himself should a teacher, prefect, Peeves or even Filch come along.
He slipped round the corner and down the corridor, pausing halfway along it to listen. He heard the sound of footsteps behind him and cursed under his breath, he was halfway between two hiding places, without enough time to successfully conceal himself in either of them. Making a split second decision, he darted for the one further down the corridor, thinking that if he didn't get caught he would have escaped in the correct direction.

The halls were empty this late at night, save for those making rounds to check that all students were in their common rooms. It was a strict curfew that students, prefects excluded, were in their dorms to wind down from the day, possibly get homework done, and get enough sleep for the next day.
This was where Klera was now, roaming the halls to find students out of bed. She’d just come from the sixth floor and was taking the long way around the seventh back to the stairwell. All seemed well on this floor, as well. She’d make one last round on each of the floors, report to the Headmaster, and be on her way.
As Klera stepped around the corner to see a shape disappear into the shadows. The girl sighed; she hated having to scold her younger classmates, especially if they ended up being from her own house. That aside, she put on a stern expression and stalked down the corridor. “Come out, now,” she called out in the most authoritative voice she could muster. “You’ve been caught and pretending you’re not there won’t work.”

((OOC - I'm thinking we would definitely have met before this right... by the way, the marauders set off fireworks at the opening feast, you would probably suspect it was us...))
Sirius sighed as he heard Klera's voice calling to him from down the corridor, she had seen him. He drew himself up to his full height and stepped bravely out of the shadows. It was shame she'd been made a prefect, she would have made a good accomplice in the marauders future pranks. Never mind, it couldn't be helped. He'd just have to remember she was capable of punishing them if she caught them, so to stay out of her way.
"Hi Klera, fancy meeting you here." he said casually, with an air of nonchalance.

((Yes, I assume they would have met. Probably not hang out as much due to age difference, but familiarity.))
If it weren't for the fact that she was supposed to be mad at him, Klera would have laughed at the nightly greeting with her younger housemate. She had to admit, if only to herself, she enjoyed watching the antics of this little troublemaker and his friends. Vaguely, she remembered a time when she would have been like that. A small frown came to her features, she still couldn't remember much of her past, and certainly not what had happened to make her forget.
"Sirius Black, what are you doing out of bed at this hour?" She crossed her arms sternly over her chest, making it clear they weren't in for a friendly chat as would have happened during the day. Still, part of her mind nagged her to go easy on him. This was the first time this year at least that he'd snuck out, at least to her knowledge.

Sirius could see that Klera wasn't in the mood for talking, and decided very quickly that in this case honesty would probably be the best policy. Here goes... he thought, taking a deep breath.
"I'm not doing anything bad Klera, I promise, it's just that, I want to try out for beater again this year, and my mum destroyed my bat over the stuffed partridge at the beginning of the summer and then grounded me so I haven't been able to buy a new one yet, so I wanted to be the first down to the school store to sign one out so I could get a decent one to practise with, because I really don't want one that could blow up in my face at any time." he said this all quite fast in his one deep breath, hoping that the quicker it came out the quicker any punishment she would give him as a result would be over.
"I have't had a chance to ask professor McGonagall about ordering a new one yet, she seemed a bit busy after the feast." he explained, hoping that this would buy him some leeway.

Klera waited patiently for Sirius to finish his story, a rather hastily told story. "Busy dealing with the effects of your fireworks," she countered, one eye brow raised in an amused manner. She sighed, running a hand through her hair. Professor McGonagall certainly was busy and probably wanted to rest tonight before her first class, and Professor Dumbledore would most likely laugh at this.
"I'm going to let you off with just a warning this time," she assured the youngster. "But next time I'm not going to be so easy on you. Come on, you won't get stopped again with me." Klera would escort the boy to the pitch to get his bat and back up to the common room.

Sirius grinned sheepishly, maybe it was obvious who had set off the fireworks, but Professor Dumbledore had laughed.
"Thanks Klera, I'll be more careful next time." he assured her as they set off down the corridor together. "So how was your summer?"

Klera could only chuckle under her breath at the young boy's grin. It was no wonder he and his friends got away with murder around Professor Dumbledore, and now her as well. My my, he was a lucky little boy. Together they set off down the corridor towards the staircases.
"My summer was just fine, thanks." She purposefully left out the fact that she'd spent most of it running through various parts of the country searching for a sign of where she'd come from, where she'd been in that gap of memory she couldn't access. Nor did she mention she'd never truly went home, she never had a home to go to. Half the time had been spent at her friend Simanus' house. "How was yours? Do anything fun?"

"Not really, my mum grounded me less than week after I got home. Then she confiscated my beaters bat 'cause I knocked over our trolls leg umbrella stand, then when I stole it back because I'd bought it and she had no right to take it off me she reduced it to splinters at dinner." he grinned then.
"So I spent most of my summer repapering my wall with posters of muggle motorbikes, using a permanent sticking charm. She wasn't pleased when she saw what I'd done, but she couldn't get them off so she couldn't do anything about it, and I'd hidden my broom, plus she'd bought that so she wasn't going to waste money by destroying that. The Old Hag, and now Regulus is in Slytherin, so he's going to hate me too." He didn't rush talking about his summer as he had his explanation of what he was doing out of bed. He didn't need to any more, and he enjoyed talking, he liked being the centre of attention.

Klera nodded and listening to the young boys story. Mother's certainly could be annoying. She knew her's had been. Though to be fair, it was only out of fear of her husband that her mother ever turned to the violence she did. Klera's father had held them both under his thumb for many years before she finally did anything about it.
"Seems as if you had a busy summer," she chuckled. Klera eyed Sirius out of the corner of her eye when he mentioned his younger brother. "I trust your brother is easier to manage? I don't need to chase after two Blacks in one night." It was meant to be a joke. She hoped Sirius knew that.

"He's a bit of a goody two shoes really, I mean he got sorted into Slytherin, just like mum wanted. Stupid little Suck up." he mumbled the last bit under his breath. Yes it was childish, but he didn't care, it was how he felt wasn't it? No, he knew Regulus had done it because he needed to be accepted by the family, Sirius almost wished he had been that stupid too, but he couldn't imagine life without Remus and James. "I don't think you'll get too much trouble from him, he was always the sensible one." he said with a shrug.

Klera could only sigh and nod at Sirius's explanation of his brother. She didn't know exactly how to respond. She knew family troubles, that was certain, but she didn't understand conflicts between siblings. True, she'd only known hers for a short period of time, but she'd loved him just the same. He'd taken her in for what she was, embraced her for the fact that she was back in his life, though she had no recollection of him. And, just like that, he was out of her life again. The only question remaining was where he'd gone.
A small smile tugged up the corners of her mouth and Klera wrapped an arm around the younger boy's shoulders. "Why does it seem goody-goody and Slytherin don't go together?" she joked. The girl chuckled at his next comment about his brother's sensibility. "You can be sensible, too. At times. Come, down the stairs with you." They'd reached the stair and she waited for him to go first. While she did she scanned the corridor once more to ensure no other students were out of bed.

Sirius shrugged at the question. "He is though, and I hope he stays that way." Sirius walked down the stairs ahead of Klera. "Being sensible is boring though, and if you do it too much people expect you stay that way. I prefer to pleasantly surprise people on occasion and meet their expectations for the rest of the time." It was a simple philosophy, but one that had worked for him most of his life.
