Atticus strolled through the door into the dingy bar it wasn't as grand as home or hogwarts but anything would do to get out of the house
Atticus stopped at the bottom of the stairs that led to the rooms he had sent an owl ahead and they were expecting him, behind there was a thud as a elderly elf that was carrying his trunk placed it on the ground
"Thank You zuck " Atticus says placing a hand on the elves shoulder in a sincere thank you. The elf was old and had large drooping ears and a deeply wrinkled face he wore what seemed to be a large old blue towel as if it was toga
"Anything for you Master Atticus, Are you sure you want to be here? you should stay at home zuck will look after you? Your moth..."
"Is dead and that is the end of it" A tone of anger and hate burnt in his voice "Zuck that is all Thanks" The elf got the message and disappeared with a pop
Atticus looked around the dark dank bar only a few people were inside most would be down the alley shopping for the coming term.
Due to what had happened towards the end of the summer Atticus could stomach his house or his father no more and instead chose to take up residence here at the leaky cauldron for a few days. Looking around Atticus kicked his trunk out of the walk way to one side and strolled to a velvet arm chair a couple of paces away and took a seat.

Thom stumbled out of the fire and brushed himself down, before exiting the small back room and heading out into the bar. He took in the room quickly as his father had taught him and quickly spotter Atticus a Slytherin a few years older than him who had a cruel streak Thom admired.
Thom was on his own because his father was busy with work, and that was fine by Thom. His father being bus meant having a bag of gold thrown at him and being told to go and amuse himself in Diagon Alley, which he did with little argument, it had become a regular occurrence since his mother had dies giving birth to his little sister less than two years ago.
He nodded respectfully in Atticus' direction and paused at the bar on his way over to purchase himself a bottle of butterbeer.
"Out on your own again Mister Jacobs?"
"As you see Tom." he replied in a polite, formal tone, politeness had been drilled into him from an early age by his mother, but his father had made it clear to keep conversation to a minimum with those who were beneath you. He paid for the drink and continued over to where Atticus was sitting. "Atticus, mind if I join you?"

Atticus looked up from what seemed to be a trance his eyes almost acting as a screen as his last thought played across them.
"Why of course Thomas in this day and age us of an older lineage must stick together in order to preserve a dying philosophy!" The words rolled from Atticus's tongue with pinpoint precision the words meaning speaking deep and dark on Atticus's belief of some people.
"So Thomas what brings you to this" Atticus looked around then spoke with heavy sarcasm "fine Establishment?" his finger gently carressing the soft faded purple velvet of his chair

Thom smirked at Atticus' words, how true they were.
"Thank you, what beings me here? My father, busy as always decided to throw a bag of gold at me and tell me to amuse myself around here for the day. A fairly common occurrence since..." his voice faded into nothing, he couldn't say it, and Atticus would think him weak, but he almost didn't care.
Taking a swig of his Butterbeer he glanced around. "We both know there are much finer establishments than this, is that your trunk? Are you planning on staying here or something?" Thom looked back at Atticus the question lingering in his expression and his eyes. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to pry." he looked away again slightly embarrassed by his rudeness, his mother would have slapped him if she knew, but she would never know, not now.
He took another swig of Butterbeer and stared at the brown liquid contained in it's thin sheath of glass. It was warm in the pub almost too warm, and the soft chatter of the few people in the room annoyed him slightly, as all noises like it did. The only thing that never annoyed him was his sister, she could never annoy him. Thom wanted to go to the Apothecary his experimental potions over the summer had depleted his supplies and he needed more.

"No need to apologise Thomas yes I will be staying here there was a most unfortunate incident occur at my fathers estate and I felt that matter would be resolved far quicker and easyier with out my presence" A sick part of Atticus's mind laughed as he described his mothers death as an unfortunate incident another part cried like a hurt child
Atticus looked at Thomas with a knowing look "So another victim of there own fathers success much like myself" This was only half truth yes his father held a place in what could be described as the wizarding gentry but that was not down to any efforts of his own that was a benefit of his name but one that he had learnt to exploit just as his father did.
Again Atticus found himself subconciously stroking the soft delicate velvet of the chair as if it was a comfort to him " So have you come to alley for any items inparticular or just to see what takes your fancy?"

Thom nodded his thanks at the dismissal of his rudeness, Atticus was not someone you wanted to get on the wrong side of.
"I need to visit an apothecary, I used a lot of potions ingredients over the summer, my supplies are rather diminished at present, and of course I wanted to take a look around and see what else took my fancy, I need new school robes as well, mine are a bit short. Yourself?" he asked casually, glad the topic had moved away from their families, it was clearly an uncomfortable subject for both of them.
Thom sank back in the red velvet armchair he had sat it and swigged the Butterbeer feeling it warm his insides as he did so. Whatever they put in this stuff she made him feel good, and he definitely liked it. He watched Atticus playing with the velvet on the arm of his chair absent mindedly, he wasn't enough of a sycophant to mirror the action, but he did subtly mirror the relaxed posture and the neutral expression on his face. Thom was no sheep, but he wasn't a trend setter either, he liked to be in the circles of those who were higher up the social ladder than he was, even if he was better at some things than he was.

Atticus knew not what to make of Thomas he had encountered him in the common room which was inevitable with such a small number of slytherins he had reacted well to kaines statement about older lineage and preserving the older philsophy and much like himself seemed to hold him self with an aura of dignity
"I have to pick up the usual new books, for the new year and I'm thinking I may take a turn down knockturn alley to see what is available for my private book colection" he looked down at the low coffee table which sat between the two armchairs it was low and warn
Atticus gestured to Tom the barman who strolled over to him "I'm terribly sorry to bother you Tom but would you mind fetching a bottle of firewhiskey for me, my father is due back with Mister Jacobs father to discuss business and he asked if i would arange for a private room where they could meet with a nice bottle of firewhiskey to discuss business over" Atticus laid on the charm thick and used both his father and Jacob fathers influence in hope that it would sway the barman into giving into his whim

Thom nodded, keen to take a stroll up Knockturn alley himself but not entirely willing to venture down there alone.
"Do you mind if I join you, my father said there was something I should take a look at while I was here."
When Atticus called Tom the barman over he struggled not to react to the blatant lies that were flowing so easily out of Atticus' mouth, he was successful however and smiled expectantly up at Tom waiting for him to consent to bringing over the Firewhiskey. He caught Atticus' eye and the fire of well covered deceit burning in his eyes made Thom speak up to confirm the story.
"We'll understand if it's not possible Tom, it's just that our father's are extremely busy at present with some very important business and really would like the room ready for when they get here, if you would be so kind." He pulled his most confident and trustworthy smile out of it's locker and onto his face.

Atticus looked at Tom they had lured him over and they had used the kindness approach now Atticus affirmed there need with a stern look and words that dripped like venom " You Know whats best for you and your establishment! I'm sure you must get a lot of unsavourary chracter pass through here the sort of people if caught by a ministry official in your establishment would ruin the good name of this place"
Atticus reclined back into his chair the purple velvet surrounding him his eyes were locked with Tom's until the words "Would your father be happy with a 45 vintage very good year" left Tom's mouth as he turned and brought the bottle and placed it on the table "your fathers can use the meeting its the door just under the stairs"
Atticus smiled and nodded leaning forward and shaking Tom's hand "Thank you Tom" As the barMan walked away Atticus Smirked towards Thomas "Like Fish in a Barrell"

Thom smirked back at Atticus suddenly quite excited, he had only tried Firewhiskey once before when he was seven and had found a bottle on the dining room table, abandoned by his father. He raised an eyebrow as if to say 'what now'. How the hell were they going to get it out of the pub without being caught, his father was definitely not turning up for a meeting with Atticus' Father.
He waited for a signal of some kind from Atticus, who was obviously far more experienced at this than he was and waited, keeping his relaxed posture and taking another swig of his Butterbeer.

Atticus Picked up the bottle and looked at Thomas "Now Thomas, No one like to drink alone so I assume you would care to join me now we have to choices we retire to the room Tom has so kindly said our fathers can use for there meeting or we get this bottle out the front door for a bit of a drink while we shop"
Atticus could have easily got this out if he could use his wand but he wasn't of age so there were no spell casting for him Atticus looked at Tom whose eyes were now fixed on him in a angry stare Smiling Atticus waved a thanks with two fingers
"Ok so let us see what can we do?" Atticus puzzled out loud he lived for challenges like these

"Let's wait for our father's in the room shall we Atticus" said Thom, a sudden idea occurring to him. He stood and walked towards the door into the meeting room, he held the door open for Atticus and followed him in, there was a fire burning in the hearth and a large table filled most of the space in the middle, surrounded by several large comfortable looking chairs. Thom didn't sit down though, but turned to look at Atticus, an excited expression on his face.

"you Seem Excited Thomas like a cat thats got the cream what is the plan then ?" Atticus laughed as he knew from the expression that the younger boy had a plan
Atticus looked at the room there was dark wood table in the centre that was a focal point a large siver candle stick sat in the centre with a candle alight in it moving closer atticus run his hand above the flame as if playing with it. The fire burned big in the fire place Atticus walked towards it looking at it intently
Turning he looked at Thomas again and smirked he held the whiskey in his hand

Thom grinned back at him as Atticus realised Thom had a plan.
"Floo your house elf, tell him to fill an old '45 bottle of Firewhiskey with an appropriate colour liquid and make it smell like Firewhiskey. We then hide the real stuff under our robes and leave the fake one in here and tell Tom my father just flooed me telling me they are going to be late and not to bother waiting for them, so we decided to get outside in the sunshine." Thom paused, a mischievous grin on his face. "What do you think?" he said looking curiously at the older boy as he gazed transfixed into the fire.

Atticus smirked "I like it however there is a much simpler solution People Like Tom are scared by people like us and our father's we have something he will never have due to the dirt that runs through his vains the likes of us Thomas are pure and powerful where as every breath he takes is waste of air as he will amount to nothing! The plan is simple we leave through that fireplace and if he mentions anything when we return later a bottle of fire whiskey the lighter then we will show him how truely to regret as he will be haunted by the memory of the day he crossed us!"
A fire almost as bright as that in the fireplace burnt in Atticus's eyes as the evil vile words flowed from his mouth showing how unhinged and evil he really was.
