Meet the marauders (Marauders and Jaimi)

[Sirius Black]

Sirius heaved a mental sigh of relief that Jaimi hadn't heard the comment he made to Remus. He sat back and smiled as James made his excuse he laughed. "He wants to try out a new tactic on a certain someone."

"The plan is eat and then Scrivenshaft's, then planning when we get back, Remus would like to walk Jaimi back to the castle." he said with a wink to James.

[Remus Lupin]

Remus sniggers at James and nodded in agreement about his true reasons for visiting the quill shop. "You'd think that by now, you would have at least got her to be civil to you."

Remus turned to Jaimi, his eyes sparkling, as he smiled at her. Have you finished all your shopping Jaimi. Or is there still some things to get, because I don't mind coming with you."

[Jaimi Willow]

"Who Lily Evans? I doubt she'll be in there you know, it's not like she goes to Hogesmeade to hang out there all day. She could be in any of the shops James, surely you know that." she said matter-of-factly. She didn't think it was goo for James to suffer under delusions of grandeur.

"I think I'm all done, was there anything else you wanted to do before you headed back?" she asked glancing across at him, and then back down at their hands, clasped under the table and smiled to herself before looking out at the room again.

[James Potter]

James mutters under his breath at Sirius. "Remind me to smack you over your head with that beater bat I got you." Glances over at Jaimi with a panicked look in his eyes. "Really? You mean she'd shop for something else? Merlin's beard! I'll have to just window shop for her." He nods at the plan and smirks at the news Remus wants to walk Jaimi back. "Aw are you scared she'll get lost or something?" He frowned at Remus's comment. "She is civil to me. She no longer calls me creep." He said with a satisfied smile.

James watched Remus and Jaimi as they talked, and even though he was teasing them he actually thought it was nice that Remus was happy. He just wished that he could be the same with Lily Evans. Madam Rosmerta appeared at their table, with their meals and distracted him from his thoughts.

[Sirius Black]

Sirius laughed, "Like that would achieve anything, any way, it's no secret who the love of your life is!" Sirius rolled his eyes at James' realisation the finding Lily might not be as easy as he'd thought it would be.

As Madam Rosmerta deposited his plate in front of, for Sirius at least, the time for conversation was over, until he'd finished eating anyway. He picked up the giant burger that only just fit in his mouth and took a bite, sauce dribbling down his chin as he did so. "Mmmm" he moaned in satisfaction.

[Remus Lupin]

He smiled at Jamie, shaking his head slightly. "No, I'm fine. I've got everything I need." He told her happily and he to, glanced at their hands, still clasped under the table. Turning to James, he couldn't help but chuckle at the expression on his face, as Jaimi informed him, that finding Evans was not so straight forward. "You can always buy her something, and give it to her in the common room?" He suggested. Though wished he'd kept quiet, when James made the jibe about him walking Jaimi back. His come back was on the tip of his tongue, when Madam Rosmerta brought their food. He let the matter drop and stared at his dinner. Then looked over at James' and his eyes popped at the size of the plate.

"You know I think Somme's eyes are bigger then his belly." He chuckled and shook his head slowly, as he watched Sirius eating his burger. He reminded him more and more of a dog. He picked up his own burger and took a bite. It may not have been a huge burger, but it was no less delicious.

[Jaimi Willow]

Jaimi smiled at their banter and thanked Madam Rosmerta for the food. She struggled not to laugh as Sirius managed to dribble sauce all down his chin as he began to eat hungrily. She picked up her hot sandwich and took a bite, it was delicious. The pickle was warm, and the cheese on the verge of melting.

She thought it funny how all three of her companions went quiet as soon as food was placed in front of them. She smiled to herself as she successfully ate her meal one handed. The advantage of having chosen something like a sandwich, which was possible to hold in one hand, as opposed to the giant burger Sirius was struggling to fit in his mouth.

[James Potter]

James grinned widely at Sirius, his mouth full of food. Once he'd swallowed, he shrugged. "Of course you speak the truth, oh trusted and valued friend. I forget sometimes, just how public my affection are for the beautiful Miss Evans." He continues to eat, while he listens to the conversation and when Remus suggests that he buy a present for Lily, he smiled and nodded. "Actually Remus, that's not a bad idea. It will display my thoughtfulness."Then adds. "Not to mention the fact that it will completely surprise her, so much I might get her to say yes, when I ask her out again."

[Sirius Black]

Sirius wiped his chin with a napkin and grinned across the table at Jaimi as she struggled not to laugh at him. He pulled a face in the hope that it would break the attempt. He nodded at Remus suggestion, thinking that it would certainly be easier than trying to track Evans down among all the students who were there today.

He did, however, think that James' hope that the present would surprise her enough to say yes to a date was a bit unlikely, but he wasn't going to say anything to dampen his spirits. Not wanting to dampen James' spirits of course had everything to do with the fact that Sirius was currently eating his lunch, and didn't talk while he was eating.

[Remus Lupin]

Remus remained silent, as he ate his meal. He occasionally glanced at Jaimi and smiled, as he to was successfully managing to eat his meal one handed. He smirked a little at James' comment regarding surprising Lily.He didn't have the heart to disillusion him. He took a sip of his drink and turned to Jaimi. "How's your sandwich?" He asked smiling. He had finished his burger and was about to make a start on his fries.

He stroked his thumb along her hand slowly, he was feeling more relaxed then ever now, and felt a warmth radiate through him. He made a start on the rest of his meal, while he waited for her response.

[Jaimi Willow]

Jaimi noticed Remus glancing at her, and smiled to herself. She too found herself glancing at him, a self satisfied smile slowly growing on her face. She was eating slowly so as not to get indegestion, and as a result was feeling fairly full already and was very glad she had only ordered the sandwich.

"It's delicious, thanks." she replied glancing at his plate to see he had finished his burger and started on the chips. "How was the burger?" She glanced down at their hands as his thumb slowly stroked her hand, it was as if she could feel the warmth of his hand spreading up her arm and into the rest of her body. She could definitely say that she hadn't felt this relaxed since leaving her Grandmothers at the beginning of the summer.

[James Potter]

James continued to eat silently, as he attempted to plow his way through the huge amount of food on his plate. He eventually stopped, with only clearing a quarter of the plate and leaned back in his chair. "I'm stuffed!" He said looking like he was uncomfortable. "Sirius mate... You win, help yourself." He pushed the plate to one side and groaned.

He looked lazily over to Remus and Jaimi and smiled. They did make a cute couple. "So Jaimi. What can I buy Lily? I want to get her something nice, but different. Not perfume or flowers, you know?" He unfastened the button of his trousers, just to let his stomach feel better. "Any ideas?"

[Sirius Black]

Sirius finished his burger and seemed to eat his chips so quickly any normal person would have had indigestion. He grinned as James gave up, knowing that he would be able to finish it, although James had done better than normal, managing to eat about a quarter of the plate, whereas before the summer he couldn't even manage that.

"You did better than last time mate," he said as he pulled the plate towards him. "You may get there by Seventh Year."

He tucked into the new plate in front of him and began wolfing that down with a satisfied smile on his face. He waited to hear what Jaimi would suggest.

[Remus Lupin]

Remus nodded at Jaimi's question. "Yeah it was very tasty. He continued to finish his meal, as James finally gave up on his own and asked for gift suggestions. "Well I don't really know what you could buy her. Just whatever you do, don't get her anything from Zonko's." He grinned at his friend. His attention was momentarily drawn to Sirius, as he wolfed down the remains of James' meal. He turned to Jaimi and smiling he said. "You would think those two were never fed!"

He glanced at her plate and spoke quietly. We can go, if you like. I've finished and I'm sure you would want to get back before it gets to late."

[Jaimi Willow]

Jaimi thought for a moment about what she would have liked to receive from someone like James if she was Lily.

"I'd suggest you just leave her alone for a while, but I know you'll never listen to that. So maybe a gift that means something, a lucky charm or something that says 'I saw this and though of you'. I'm sure if you take the time to walk round a couple of shops something will catch your eye." She said with a smile and put the last piece of sandwich in her mouth.

"Sirius has been the same at every Pureblood event I've been to where they serve food." she smiled up at Remus and nodded. "If you want to, I'm sure James wants to get on with his shopping." She drained the last of her drink and grabbed her bags of shopping and handbag. She stood and waited for Remus to join her. "I guess I'll see you guys around, later James, Sirius." she said with a wave.
