Remus watched her and wondered why she looked so pensive. "Are you all right? You look kind of thoughtful." He smiled at her, wondering if he had maybe overstepped the mark suggesting another date, so soon. After all he hadn't officially asked her if she wanted to be his girlfriend or anything. He wondered if he should, when she agreed that the idea sounded good.
"Well, I was just thinking that maybe I kind of took it for granted that you'd like to see me exclusively?" He paused and continued "Like be my girlfriend..." He gripped her hand and pulled her against him as she seemed to go giddy. "Are you OK Jaimi?" He put his arm around her to steady her. "Come on, maybe I should take you to your common room."
(Lol you're not the only one.)

"It's nothing, don't worry." she said smiling at him. His next question shocked her slightly, one kiss and he wanted to be exclusive? The suggestion that they be boyfriend and girlfriend made her head spin even more than it was because of the depth of the ravine. She was glad when his arm slid around her waist to steady her, and his suggestion that he take her back to her common room negated, for the moment, the need to answer his question. "Thank you."
She ran through her options in her head, at the moment they were Atticus, Remus or no one, but what if she couldn't chose between them yet? They were so different and what if, when she did choose, her father didn't approve? How could she explain all this to Remus and not hurt him? Would Sirius ever forgive her for hurting his friend? She tried now to show the turmoil of thoughts rolling through her head, but couldn't be sure if it was working. Her Veela blood should mean that it would be, but she could never rely on that.

REmus was more concerned about Jaimi now, rather then an answer to his question. He walked along the rest of the bridge, holding her and making sure she got across safely. He had shrunk her bags and put them in his pocket so they would not be to cumbersome.
He glanced at her a few times as they walked, and could see that she was deep in thought about something. He didn't interrupt her thoughts though, not until they had entered the school. "Would you rather I took you to the hospital to see Madam Pomfrey?" He felt a little protective toward her and just wanted to make sure that she was OK. "I will take you back to your common room though, if you'd prefer. I'm sorry if I kind of freaked you out before." He smiled weakly. "I suppose I put you on the spot, just forget I said that earlier. If you just want to keep things as they are. That's fine with me."

"No, I just need to get off the bridge." she said deliberately looking forward at the archway at the other end of it. "It's stupid, you'd think what with being a beater I'd be used to heights, but being on my own two feet, and being at this kind of height is just wrong." she said with an awkward laugh.
"Remus, I like you, but I don't want to rush into anything. If I do anything my father won't approve of I'm out of here, and I really don't want to have to leave.I'm sorry, but I have to be so careful." She looked across at him, hoping he would understand, that he would leave it at that for the moment, and that she wouldn't have to explain exactly what she meant.

He smiled as she explained about the height issues. "I can understand that, I suppose. The fear of height is diminished when you have something else to focus on." He listened to her explanation about them not taking things further, and he nodded his head. "No, it's fine, I understand. I would hate it if you left, and feel even worse if it was my fault." He smiled sadly. "I'm sorry if I made things awkward Jaimi." He looked at her. "I never meant to do that. I guess I just got carried away with myself." He carried on walking with her and once they were off the bridge, he just went back to holding her hand.
"Maybe I shouldn't have kissed you after all." He smiled. "I may want to do it again, when I say goodbye, and that might just make things worse for you."

"It's not that, being on a broom is different, having your feet firmly on the ground and seeing it fifty feet below you is just wrong." Jaimi was slightly disappointed when Remus stepped away from her as they stepped off the bridge, but at least he left his hand holding hers.
"Thank you." she pulled their hands up to her face and kissed the back of his hand. She looked across at him with a shy smile and let their hands swing down in between them.
Jaimi felt an edge of coyness inch it's way into her smile at Remus' last words. "I'm sure I'd enjoy you making things worse. We'll see when we get back to my common room shall we?"

Remus nodded and grinned. "Oh I get you." He blushed as she thanked him and kissed his hand. He wished he didn't blush so much, it was embarrassing. "No problem." He said softly. Remus smiled back, just as coyly. He began to feel the warmth rising in him again, as she swung their hands between them.
Remus really liked Jaimi, and although he'd said he understood her reasons for keeping things as they were, there was a part of him that wanted to still try and press upon her, that things would be OK and he would never hurt her. But he was true to his word, he would do as she wished. He would just have to prove himself.
He grinned as she gave him some hope of a kiss later. "If you keep giving me that smile, I might not hold out that long." He joked. Remus let go of her hand, and placed his arm around her waist, pulling her to him one again, as he set off back to the castle. "I like holding your hand, but I much prefer to walk with you like this." He ventured a playful kiss on her cheek, as they walked.

Jaimi smiled and had to strongly resist the urge to begin skipping. She really enjoyed being with Remus, and made a strong resolution to concentrate on doing just that for the moment. He had always been genuine and nice to her and she knew he would never do anything to hurt her, but she wasn't exactly sure that was what she wanted right now. She quickly reminded herself of the decision to enjoy her time with Remus.
The urge to start skipping was quickly negated when Remus let go of her hand and slid his arm around her waist. She couldn't help but let the coy smile on her face intensify so that it was all coyness at his comment. He could be so adorably nervous sometimes, but others, he said exactly the right thing to make her toes curl in anticipation. "Maybe that's a good thing."
As his lips connected with her cheek, she let out a soft giggle, which was extremely unlike her and she blushed as a result.

Happy with the way Jaimi responded to him, he smiled back at her. His feeling more assured as far as the time they spent together would be good and no longer awkward. He felt more sure of himself, though not in an arrogant way. He sighed happily and walked along with a spring in his step.
"Would you like me to come and call for you tomorrow after classes, so we can go exploring? Or would you prefer to leave it a few days? They were approaching the steps up to the school now.

((OMG, I'm so sorry about the lack of replying, I have been without internet for a while...))
Jaimi could tell that she'd said the right thing, what Remus needed was an ego boost. She was sure that his only friends being the 'smooth' loud ego cities that they were didn't help the fact that Remus' was so low, but she wasn't going to mention that.
"Tomorrow is good." she said with a smile, as she began walking up the steps. "As long as there's still time for me to finish my homework afterwards." she looked up at him as they crossed the entrance hall the coy smile creeping onto her face again.

((It's OK i understand. Can't be helped. ;D))
He smiled back at her reassuringly. "Don't worry, I won't have you back to late." He would probably have a lot of homework himself, as he had History of Magic tomorrow, and he always ended up helping the others with theirs. "WE will only be out an hour or so, so that won't be to bad." They started heading up the moving staircase, to the fifth floor.
"I will bring you some food if you like. Just so you don't get hungry." He stopped, as the staircase moved to a new position, then carried on. "I had a great time today Jaimi." he smiled. "Or have I already told you that?"

"Thank you," the promise of a date with Remus would certainly make the day go quicker. In a way she was looking forward to it more than she had meeting him in Hogsmeade, but maybe that was because she would actually get to spend some time alone with him rather than being under the scrupulous eyes of his friends who saw fit to make comment about them holding hands under the table.
"That would be nice, thanks." she said as they paused on the stairs. "You may have mentioned it, but it's nice to hear." Jaimi flicked her hair over her shoulder exposing her neck on the side that was closest to Remus. "I had a good time too."

"No problem." He said with a grin. He was glad that they would have a chance to be alone with Jaimi tomorrow. He enjoyed her company and wanted to get to know her better. When she flicked her hair back, he could see her face better. She looked beautiful to his eyes. He smiled coyly at her and resisted the temptation to cup her cheek and kiss her.
He smiled again as she reminded him, that he had mentioned he'd had a good time. "Sorry." He carried on walking her along the corridor "I'm glad you enjoyed it. Though I think I enjoyed the time since we left the three Broomsticks more." He smiled. "So what plans have you for the rest of the day?"

((Ahhh, the wonder of the 'coy smile' how sweet and sickening... how did this happen... lol... oh yeah we were struggling to pretend to be fourteen... )) She caught him looking at her with a coy smile and couldn't help but blush. She interestedly at the wall of the corridor they were now walking along and twirled a bit of her hair in between her fingers. "Me too, somehow it's been more about getting to know each other and less about defending our ability to eat one handed." she said with a small laugh finally looking back at him, her blush having receeded. "Homework probably, I've got a Transfiguration essay due and and Essay about the properties of Boomslang skin for potions to do. But they shouldn't take too long, I was thinking of heading down to the Quidditch Pitch when I'm done. You?" she asked looking across at him with an interested smile.

((Lol, yeah sorry about that. It's hard to behave like I'm 14 again. ) Remus watched her twisting her hair between her fingers, and thought it was kind of cute. He chuckled at her observations of their 'date' and nodded in agreement. "Yeah, I suppose James and Sirius were milking the fact that they had an opportunity to tease me over something more interesting, then my incessant book reading." He listened to what plans she had, and when she asked him his, he shrugged. "Oh pretty much the same. A Defence Against the Dark Arts paper, I have another ten inches to do, and Charms." He smiled, though no doubt James and Sirius will want a blow by blow account of our walk back." He chuckled. Then added, as they got to the spiral staircase leading to the Ravenclaw common room. "I won't be so forthcoming with details. I'm not that kind of boy. I hate it when boys brag about things like that." In fact he disliked it whenever Sirius gave all the gory details of his conquests, and would bury his head further into his book. Remus rubbed the back of his neck nervously, as he didn't know whether she'd be upset at the thought of them talking about her, but he wanted to be honest. "I hope you don't think I'd just go blurting out that we kissed or anything.... I mean, you don't know what they're like. I want things between us to be private... You know?" He smiled at her, as they neared the top of the staircase. "Nearly home." he said lightly.
